Rebuilding Together of the Triangle

Home-by-Home Campaign

Please join the collective effort to keep our friends and neighbors in safe and healthy homes by volunteering with RTT. Help us make a dream come true for a local family. We have opportunities for individuals and groups to engage all year long, in neighborhoods and communities across the Triangle. All skill levels are welcome. We provide professional supervision, tools and a carefully-prepared project day to ensure the time you contribute has a meaningful impact on the family being served. We would love to have you join us!

Remember Robert

Robert and his two sons were signed up on multiple waiting lists, at multiple agencies, hoping for assistance with critical repairs to their home. Last winter, those agencies joined forces to form the Durham Home Repair Collaborative, a group dedicated to working together in new ways so that more people in Durham receive needed repair services. Through the support of Durham County, Rebuilding Together of the Triangle (RTT) and Habitat for Humanity of Durham, they were able to collaboratively tackle the repairs on Robert’s home. Habitat addressed decks and unsafe electrical issues, while RTT replaced windows, installed a new kitchen and replaced the damaged, unhealthy carpet with new vinyl plank flooring.
This project served as a pilot for how these agencies, in conjunction with others like Resources for Seniors, Reinvestment Partners and the City of Durham, hope to work collectively in the future. The goal is to complete the work these families desperately need by identifying critical issues, assembling required resources and working together to help resolve some of the challenges homeowners face. RTT is thrilled to be helping to lead this kind of effort in Durham as well as in Chatham, Orange and Wake Counties.
